Vintage 1930s Irish Chain Quilt – Feedsack Fabrics – Hand Quilted – 62” x 76”

This is such a charming vintage Irish Chain Quilt featuring a flowing lattice design of feedsack florals against a soft blue ground. Made of 1-inch squares, the patchwork has been expertly pieced with a blue-on-blue color palette made of florals, checks, and prints typical of the 1930s. The hand-quilting is even, precise and in diagonal grids.

The back is white cotton while the binding is the same blue cotton as the front fabric and has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is sturdy and in very good vintage condition with several issues:
* One old repair (of approximately 6”) on one border
* One small area of discoloration on the border
* Some beginning fraying of the binding
The quilt remains structurally sound, with strong fabrics and intact quilting throughout. It displays beautifully and retains its integrity.
