This is a joyful Antique Lone Star Quilt, circa 1900-1920s, that radiates with its golden yellow ground and classic eight-pointed star. But what makes this quilt exquisite and unique is its stipple quilting, all in repeating shells with rows just 1/8-inch or less apart.
The vibrant eight-point star is composed of red, green, and blue ginghams, stripes, and tiny prints—each piece expertly hand pieced in sharp points. Set against the rich yellow field, this quilt a standout display piece as well as a functional textile.
The back is white cotton while the gold ground from the front has been turned to the back and hand-stitched to form a very narrow binding. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt has been well cared for and is in excellent antiqu4 condition with no issues noted.
