Vintage 1936 Blue Ohio Rose Appliqué Quilt with Feather Motifs | Dated 1936 | 80” x 84”

This is a beautifully done Blue Ohio Rose Quilt made from a pattern by Mountain Mist and dated September 14, 1936 by the maker. The quilt is entirely hand-pieced, hand appliqued and hand quilted, with the quilting in elaborate feather and plume motifs, braided rope patterns and feathered hearts on each corner.

This eye-catching quilt has a wonderfully fresh cottage feel with its blue and green and yellow Ohio Rose motifs with serpentine vine embellishments, all against a crisp white ground.

The back is white cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no condition issues noted. It has been soaked, hand-washed in fragrance-free soap and line-dried, giving it a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
