This striking mid-19th century Country Cousin Quilt features bold indigo blue piecing set against soft light shirtings and framed with vibrant double pink latticework. The quilt’s fabrics include deep indigo prints with tiny white stars and delicate light-ground shirtings with small floral sprigs. The fine hand-quilting includes double diagonals, double outlines of the patchwork and diamond grids.
The back is off-white/ivory cotton while the binding is a navy blue and polka dot print that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is sturdy and in excellent condition with several small tan/toning marks on the front (see photos) and one minor seam separation.
