Vintage 1930s Ocean Waves Quilt, Hand Pieced Colorful Cottage Farmhouse Quilt, 70.5" x 87"

This is a very beautiful vintage Ocean Waves Quilt filled with hundreds of tiny hand-pieced triangles with cheerful 1930s cotton prints, including feedsack florals, stripes, polka dots, novelty prints, geometrics, plaids, and sweet cottage florals in vibrant reds, aqua blues, pinks, coral oranges, and soft pastels. The scale of the piecing is especially impressive, with more than 1,000 tiny triangles carefully joined by hand.

This quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, with lovely period quilting designs including zigzags along the white border, outlines of the patchwork and in geometric/floral designs in the open white areas. The back is white cotton while the binding is blue plaid that has been machine stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition. It has been soaked, hand washed in fragrance-free soap and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
