$239.00

  • Details
This cheerful oversized vintage Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt is made of thousands of colorful hexagon flowers across a soft white ground. The fabrics are bright candy-colored pinks, aquas, reds, yellows, greens, and blues

Made in the 1960s from cottons and cotton-rayon blends, including textured cotton blends, the quilt is entirely hand-pieced and hand-quilted. Incredibly, each of the thousands of hexagons on this very large quilt is individually quilted in the outline of the hexagon. Given the size of the quilt, this must have taken years.

The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: While the top is in excellent vintage condition, the cotton back has fabric loss in one area effecting about 20% of the back - see photos. The quilt remains sturdy and intact despite this issue.
