Such a beautiful airy Four Patch quilt dating to the 1940s-1950s, filled with a lively mix of florals, geometrics, novelties, and solid prints set against a crisp white background. The simple diagonal on-point arrangement of the colorful Four Patch blocks gives the quilt a bright, graphic quality that feels cottage-inspired.
This quilt has beautiful hand quilting throughout in outlines of the patchwork and crosshatches. The fabric palette includes vivid reds, lavenders, buttery yellows and greens.
The back is a blue-and-yellow printed cotton floral that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding while the cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is very sturdy and beautiful but has some yellow color transfer in two white blocks (see photos) with that transfer appearing to come from adjacent black print blocks that have some minor fading/color loss.
