This cheerful and beautifully graphic Grandmother’s Flower Basket quilt is a unique and joyful example of 1950s quiltmaking. Entirely hand pieced from 1.5-inch hexagons, it features a central flower basket overflowing with blossoms, surrounded by additional floral sprays and jewel-like floral medallions in vibrant pinks, reds, turquoise blues, lavender, yellow, and green.
The hand quilting is in outlines of the thousands of hexagons. The back is off-white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with some light (green) color transfer. See photos.
