This striking Antique Evening Star Quilt dates to approximately 1900–1920 and features vivid red and golden cheddar/yellow stars set against a soft ivory ground. The quilt is framed by a beautiful red sawtooth border, while the hand quilting is exceptional - tiny, precise and in complex patterns like feathers and feather wreaths throughout the quilt.

The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in very good antique condition overall with light age-related wear, including few small areas of wear and minor fabric loss along portions of the sawtooth border and in several tiny areas of the stars. The quilting remains strong and the quilt has excellent structural integrity.
