This beautiful Depression era Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt is filled with more than 2,000 hexagons arranged into blooming flowers across a soft buttery yellow background. The combination of cheerful fabrics and hand quilting in outlines of the hexagons are the reason Grandmother's Flower Garden quilts remain one of the most popular patterns of all time.

The quilt is filled with classic 1930s Depression-era prints including:
* cheerful feedsack florals
* tiny calico prints
* bright cherry reds
* soft aqua and cadet blues
* sunny yellows
* pink plaids and stripes
* delicate ditsy florals
* novelty conversational prints
* soft lavender and gray shirtings

Entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, each hexagon has been carefully stitched together by hand then individually hand quilted. The back is an ivory cotton while the binding is butter-yellow cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and hand-stitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition. It has been soaked, freshly hand washed and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
