  • Details
This large hexagon quilt is filled with hundreds of colorful prints collected and stitched together into a mosaic of "flower gardens". Dating to approximately the 1960s the quilt is entirely hand pieced and features a beautiful mix of florals, plaids, novelty prints, feedsack-inspired designs, barkcloth-style prints, juvenile fabrics, and colorful cottons characteristic of the period. The hand quilting is in outlines of the hexagons.

The back is an off-white cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is being sold as a cutter quilt - about a dozen hexagons throughout the quilt have experienced fabric loss, shattering, thinning, or deterioration, resulting in holes and missing fabric in areas. See photos.
The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand washed and line-dried, giving a light natural sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
