Antique 1920s–1930s Ocean Waves Quilt – Tiny 1” Triangles – Hand Pieced & Hand Quilted – 62” x 80”

This antique Ocean Waves quilt dates to approximately the 1920s–1930s and is exceptionally finely pieced from very small half-square triangles measuring approximately 1 inch, creating the tightly worked, interlocking Ocean Waves pattern across the center of the quilt. The two sided border has an unusual six-block pattern incorporated on each side.

The quilt uses a single blue-green cotton print with small red and white floral motifs against a warm cheddar cotton ground. The quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted with quilting that includes straight-line and geometric quilting through the body of the quilt with additional geometric quilting through the large cream centers and border.

The back is white cotton while the quilt has been knife-edge finished. The cotton batting is lightweight and thin.

CONDITION: Very good antique condition. The fabrics remain strong and the piecing is well preserved. There is a repair/patch to the back as can be seen in the photos. Please review the photographs closely as they are an important part of the description.
