This is a charming Depression-era nursery quilt dating to the 1930s–1940s, showcasing needleturn appliqué, and pictorial embroidery. Centered on a petal-pink cotton ground, this crib quilt depicts a childhood vignette: a storybook doll in a calico dress, a duck pull-toy on calico wheels, an afternoon tea set, and potted garden flowers resting on embroidered stepped shelves—all framed within an appliquéd pastel-blue ribbon border with knotted bows at each corner.

The applique uses authentic period dress prints, solids, and feed-sack scraps, reflecting the resourceful artistry of mid-20th-century home quilters. The hand quilting is tiny and even and in an allover diagonal grid pattern. The back is pink cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight and thin.
