  • Details
This is a bright 1930s Depression-era Snowball Quilt with bright yellow "snowballs" surrounded by a scrappy group of 1920s and 30s cottons that include florals, dress prints, shirtings, ginghams, plaids, stripes, geometrics and novelty fabrics. Besides the repeating bright yellow snowballs, the palette includes blues, pinks, reds, greens, aquas, browns and grays

The hand quilting is in concentric steps that follow the lines of the individual blocks around the snowballs. The background is assembled from numerous small, irregularly shaped scraps and strips.

The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and lightweight.

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition, with one minor seam separation as shown in the photos. Please review all photographs closely as they form an important part of the description.
