Vintage 1940s Glorified Nine Patch Cutter Quilt – Hand Quilted – 65” x 73”

$151.20 $189.00

  • Details
This is a very colorful 1940s Glorified Nine Patch Quilt featuring an interlocking pattern of nine-patch blocks with gently curved white connecting sections in bright reds, cobalt and blues, turquoise, mint green, yellow, lavender, pink, and brown, with a variety of small floral prints, checks, plaids, and geometric patterns characteristic of the 1940s.

The quilt is extensively hand quilted in elaborate circular and radiating designs within the nine-patch blocks and decorative scrollwork in the white connecting sections. The back is white cotton while the binding is a pale green cotton. The cotton batting is lightweight and very thin.

Although the quilt has significant condition issues, much of the colorful front remains intact, making it suitable for repurposing, textile projects, or salvaging individual blocks.

CONDITION: While nearly 90% of the front of the quilt is intact and in good condition, the quilt is being sold as a cutter due to fabric deterioration, primarily involving thinning and fabric loss on the back of the quilt. The deterioration has affected several areas of the quilt front, resulting in holes and localized fabric loss in several areas (see photos). Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
