Such a lovely shade of mint green, this antique London Roads Quilt dates to the 1920s or 1930s, and features a pale mint green background with colorful patchwork blocks in shades of blue, pink, purple, yellow, and red.
The alternating London Roads blocks and coordinating print blocks are arranged with wide mint green sashing and bright raspberry-pink cornerstones. The assortment of vintage cotton prints includes florals, small geometric designs, and colorful prints characteristic of the period.
The pale mint green background provides a perfect contrast with the colorful patchwork. The quilt has been hand quilted, with rows of straight-line quilting through the sashing and additional quilting within the blocks. The back is a vintage orange, green, and white geometric cotton print that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: This antique quilt is largely intact and is generally intact, however, it has condition issues associated with age and use, including areas of fabric wear, fading, some deterioration, and considerable fraying and wear along the binding and edges. It is being offered as a cutter quilt because of these issues.
