This vintage Rose Dream Quilt dates to approximately the late 1930s to early 1940s and features a wonderful assortment of Depression-era cotton fabrics arranged in the traditional Rose Dream pattern in pink and lavender novelty prints, navy blue calicos, ginghams, shirting stripes, geometric prints, and colorful plaids. The combination of pink, blue, turquoise, yellow, brown, and black creates a particularly interesting scrappy design.
The quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with echo quilting that follows the curved piecing and additional stitching throughout the blocks.
The back is a colorful cotton print featuring red and blue floral shapes against a bright green background. The back has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight and unsized.
CONDITION: The quilt is in very good vintage condition and displays the soft texture and gentle puckering associated with vintage hand quilting. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the description.
