A beautiful and authentic 1930s Six-Pointed Star (Honeycomb Star) Quilt constructed from a vibrant array of period cotton prints—classic feedsack florals, stripes, and small-scale geometrics—arranged into striking and oversized (15-inch) hexagon-based stars with golden yellow diamond points linking the design. The result is a cheerful yet sophisticated quilt with wonderful movement and depth.
The quilt is a combination of hand-quilting and machine quilting, all in a grid of diagonals. The back is a plain-weave cotton in a bold geometric novelty print typical of the era. The back has been turned to the front and machine-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with minor overall fading of the fabrics.
