Beautiful authentic Depression-era Dresden Plate quilt, hand pieced and hand quilted, dating to approximately 1930–1940. This striking quilt features colorful Dresden Plate blocks made from a wide variety of vintage feed sack and early printed cotton fabrics, set against a rich blue background. Each Dresden Plate showcases a unique combination of florals, plaids, dots, and novelty prints, creating a joyful, one-of-a-kind composition. The quilt is entirely hand quilted with graceful stars, diagonal grids, concentric circles and unique geometric patterns throughout, adding texture and depth.
The back is also blue cotton, as is the binding which has been machine-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with portions of the binding beginning to fray.
