Vintage Pastel Scrap Quilt Basket Quilt – 1940s Feedsack Fabrics – – 66” x 75”

This sweet 1940s basket quilt is cheerful and bright and made up of 42 basket blocks made of Depression-era and post-war feed sack and small-scale cotton prints, all against a white cotton ground. There is a four-sided aqua/seafoam green border, while the hand-quilting is in echo-quilting within the basket blocks and in a diagonal grid along the border.

The color palette is quintessentially1940s: soft pastels, crisp reds and blues, sunny yellows, and fresh greens, while the back is white cotton, as is the binding that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with some all over age-related fading.
