This beautiful Depression-era Dresden Plate quilt is a wonderful example of the cheerful scrap quilts made during the 1930s and early 1940s. Each block features a classic Dresden Plate design composed of numerous colorful fabric wedges surrounding a bright sunny yellow center. The plates are made of feedsack and dress cotton prints, with florals, geometrics, ginghams, and tiny novelty prints typical of the Depression era. The blocks are set against a soft white background with bold yellow sashing and borders.

The quilt is hand pieced, hand appliquéd, and hand quilted, with hand-quilting in diagonal grids. The back is yellow cotton that has been turned to the front and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with no issues noted.
