Hand-pieced from more than one thousand 2-inch hexagons, this classic 1930-1940s Honeycomb design radiates outward with a kaleidoscopic effect. The palette is a scrappy mix of Depression-era prints—feedsack florals, ginghams, tiny geometrics, and soft pastels—anchored by deeper tones and occasional black prints. The hand-quilting is in outlines of the more than 1,000 hexagons.
The back is a light blue print, as is the binding that has been machine-stitched to the back and hand-stitched to the front. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in very good, sturdy condition with a fraying binding and - at the corners some fabric loss/shattering of a black and white print (see photos).
