This is a beautifully timeworn antique Seven Sisters quilt, made with dozens of richly patterned chintz stars that create a striking mosaic of 19th-century fabrics in soft browns, madder reds, and delicate prints. It has been hand-quilted in outlines of the patchwork.
The back is ivory cotton while the binding is a rust-red cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: This is a well-loved antique quilt with visible age and wear as shown in the photos, including: * Fabric loss and thinning in several star points and darker prints * Seam wear and fraying in areas * Scattered staining and discoloration Despite these condition issues, the quilt remains structurally intact and displays beautifully, with its pattern and fabric variety still strongly visible.
