This charming 1930s Flashing Windmills Quilt has a cheerful Depression-era farmhouse look with its soft blue gingham sashing, tiny floral feedsack-style prints, and wonderfully graphic pinwheel-style piecing throughout. The combination of pastel blues, pinks, greens, and crisp whites gives it a fresh cottage aesthetic.
The quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted, with a lovely twisted rope quilting pattern on the sashing and border and quilting in outlines of the patchwork in each individual block. The back is white cotton while the border fabric has been turned to the back and hand-stitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt has one hole, one block with minor fabric loss and a fraying binding. See photos. Due to these condition issues it is being sold as a cutter or restoration quilt. Even with the condition issues, it remains visually striking and sturdy.
