This joyful and beautifully preserved 1930s Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt is entirely hand pieced and hand quilted and made of more than 2,500 tiny (1.25") hexagons. The quilt is made up of dozens of charming hexagonal floral rosettes made from an assortment of cheerful 1930s cotton prints in soft pastels and vivid feedsack-era colors. All four sides of the quilt are slightly scalloped following the lines of the "gardens".
The hand-quilting is meticulous, in tiny stitches and in outlines of each of the thousands of hexagons. The back is white cotton while the binding is green cotton that has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.
CONDITION: The quilt is in excellent vintage condition with some age related fading.
