Antique Wreath of Roses Quilt – Early 20th Century Appliqué Cutter Quilt – 84” x 87”

This striking early 20th century appliqué quilt features a graphic “Wreath of Roses” design with vivid red floral wreaths winding across a white background. Even in its current state, the quilt retains tremendous visual impact with its elegant scrolling vines, bold flowers, and dense hand quilting throughout.

The quilt is entirely hand appliquéd and hand quilted, with lovely small-scale diamond quilting across the background and additional hand-quilting outlining around the floral motifs. The back is white cotton while the binding is green cotton and has been hand-stitched to both sides. The cotton batting is very lightweight.

CONDITION: The quilt overall remains sturdy due to the dense hand-quilting, but due to the unfortunate loss and deterioration of many of the appliqué elements and some red (light pink) color transfer (see photos), the quilt is being sold as a cutter or crafting quilt. Numerous flowers, leaves, and vine sections are missing or partially detached, as shown in the photographs.
