Wonderful Bucking Bronco Wall Art Quilt that is a 1990 Judy Boisson quilt featuring a dramatic cowboy riding a bucking white bronco, surrounded by split-rail fences, wagon wheels, stylized flowers and bold white stars.
The central appliqué is a cowboy wearing bright red trousers, boots and spurs and holding his hat aloft while riding the bucking horse. Embroidered details define the rider’s face and clothing as well as the horse’s bridle, facial features and hooves. The surrounding fences include detailed embroidered wagon wheels, with small turquoise appliqué plants and red embroidered flowers.
The quilt's colors include indigo/navy blue, vivid red, cream, turquoise, golden tan, yellow and black. A narrow cream inner border frames the dark blue central field, with a wide red outer border. The entire quilt is densely hand quilted, with the individual hand stitches readily visible throughout the blue field and borders.
The back is white/cream cotton while the binding is blue cotton that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The batting is lightweight. Five fabric hanging tabs are attached along the upper edge for display.
CONDITION: Very good vintage condition. The colors remain bright and the hand stitching is intact. Please examine all photographs closely as they form an important part of the description.
