Early 1900s Memory Block Cutter Quilt – Hand Quilted Antique – 72” x 81”

This antique Memory Block Quilt dates to the 1900-1910 and is composed of patchwork blocks arranged across a white cotton background. The blocks include floral prints, plaids, stripes, and small geometric designs in shades of blue, pink, coral, peach, yellow, and green.

The quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted in double diagonal lines and closely spaced parallel stitching.

The back is white cotton that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is very lightweight and thin.

CONDITION: This quilt is being sold as a cutter quilt due to age-related condition issues. There is fading throughout, with some fabrics retaining considerably more color than others. The binding has begun to fray in places, and there are areas of fabric wear, thinning, and deterioration, including small areas of localized fabric loss, as shown in the photographs. Despite these issues, much of the quilt remains intact, including the majority of the patchwork blocks and the extensive hand quilting.

A good candidate for restoration, repurposing, or use in vintage textile and sewing projects. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the description. The quilt has been soaked, freshly hand washed and line dried, giving it a light, natural, sun-dried cotton scent (not artificially fragranced).
