Vintage 1930s–1940s Triangle Tile Scrappy Cutter Quilt – Hand Quilted – 65” x 74"

Vintage circa 1930s–1940s Triangle Tile scrap quilt featuring hundreds of small, individually pieced triangles arranged in a colorful geometric design.

The quilt incorporates a scrappy assortment of period cotton fabrics, including Depression-era florals, plaids, checks, stripes, polka dots, geometric prints, and novelty fabrics. Colors include turquoise, navy blue, yellow, coral, red, green, brown, and cream.

The triangles are assembled in a varied arrangement, creating diagonal patterns and contrasting sections throughout the quilt. The piecework and quilting are completed by hand, with diagonal quilting stitches following the triangular patches. The back is dark gray cotton that has been turned to the front and handstitched to form the binding. The cotton batting is unsized and medium weight.

CONDITION: This quilt is being sold as a cutter quilt due to areas of fabric loss, scattered holes, weakened fabrics, and considerable wear along portions of the edges and binding. About 90% of the quilt remains intact, including the overwhelming majority of its original patchwork. The damaged areas are localized, and the quilt is a good candidate for repair or restoration.
