Vintage 1930s Lone Star Quilt – Pink and Blue Eight-Point Star – Exceptional Hand Quilting – 71” x 79”

This is a lovely vintage Lone Star Quilt dating to the 1930s. The large eight-point star is made of hundreds of individually pieced diamonds in shades of pink, royal blue, soft blue, and cream, accented with gingham checks and plaid cotton fabrics.

The star is set against a white cotton background and framed by coordinating royal blue and pink borders.

The hand quilting is impressive, with elaborate feathered wreaths in the large white background sections, along with additional feather quilting, decorative motifs, and closely spaced stitching throughout the borders and surrounding white areas. The star itself has been carefully hand quilted in outlines of the diamonds to complement the intricate piecing.

The back is white cotton as is the binding that has been machine stitched to the front and handstitched to the back. The cotton batting is lightweight.
